There is no strategic procurement without a procurement plan

As Miloš Olejník aptly noted, "there is no strategic procurement without a procurement plan, category management cannot exist without planning". Together with Jan Hirsch (Blanco), at the beginning of the second module, they explained to us what the procurement plan is, its importance for the organization and the procurement department, and what its necessary content should be. The key element is that the plan is not just a "drawer" document, but is used at least to manage the relationship with suppliers, control, direct procurement and be a tool for setting goals.

We also had a debate about the time division of the plan into short-term (up to 1 year), medium-term and long-term (3-5 years) and that in today's fast-changing and unpredictable world, planning is currently done in the short term. It was interesting to put concepts such as the TCO spell linked to the procurement plan, SIPOC model, Meverick purchases, Balanced scorecard and evaluation and others into the context of procurement. Thus, the thesis of the course on presenting the theory of purchasing through the eyes of practitioners was fully fulfilled.

In the second part of the module, Petr Musil (Dun & Bradstreet) introduced us to the Dun & Bradstreet Data Cloud - the most widespread database of global business data and information and reminded us of the importance of data for the growth and prosperity of companies. We also learned what a DUNS Number is, a D&B Paydex Score, about monitoring sanctions lists and the press, and it was more than interesting. The golden point of the program was Michal Barc (Konica Minolta IT Solutions Czech), who showed us with illustrative examples how you can simplify your work and digitize processes in the company thanks to Microsoft 365, namely the components Loop, Power Platform, Teams and others. At the end, there were a lot of questions and as we said goodbye, we knew for a fact, that many of us will now explore the hidden possibilities of Microsoft programs.
